Chad

After two equally long back-to-back flights - Detroit to Paris and Paris to N’Djamena - we arrived in the capital city of Chad. Several hours ago -at 11:00 p.m.-we checked into the Le Meridien Chari.

Except for the complimentary can of mosquito spray and instructions from the night clerk to turn on the air conditioning because mosquitoes don't like cold air, guest rooms at Le Meridien are not unlike most other standard hotel rooms.

At the airport in Paris,we met one of Julius' former colleagues.  Rudy was enroute from Madagascar to Washington DC when he recognized an old friend and stopped to catch up with his former boss whom he hadn't seen in twenty years!
